A couple days ago, HRTortie was maow-ing loudly at me b/c she wanted some gooshyfud. I said, "yes, yes, whatever the Princess wants" and then sang:
Whatever Tortie wants,
Tortie gets,
And gooshyfud is
What Tortie
Loves best!
Last night (akshully it was like 2 AM) I went to bed and Miss Tortie galloped into the bedroom ahead of me. Most determined to stay. So I took my meds and brushed my teef and she zoomed back and forth, running around the room for fun. She doesn't get much chance to do that without getting beaten up.
She plunked down at the foot of the bed and snoozed on the electric blankie all night.
I woke up at some point to go to the bathroom, turned off blankie, and cuddled under the covers with purring floofy girl. Over the next few hours, I ended up pulling my head out from under the covers to cool enough to breathe, and then having to unbutton my PJ top to cool off. Her is a heat generator. Purrr purrrr purrrr. I kept waking up, petting her, dozing off...
Eventually she oozed out, went to the litter box and eated the last of her croncheez. It was well after noon, so I got up and Mr. LT made me eggs and bacon.
Purrr-fect Sunday. I have bills and crap to do, but that can wait till tomorrow; today was Zen Floof from Sensei Tortie.
Well, we've had a few blood-curdling screams with wrestling matches today, but mostly there's been much nomming, big meows asking for noms, and a whole lot of sleeeeping. Tortie's been on FDaddy's lap and TK's been atop the cat tree. So peaceful when they aren't fighting.
Him still hasn't bathed properly, but it's getting better. Still can't wait for his fur to grow in so I no longer have to look at his nekkid tummy and butt. HRT sniffed his butt while he was eating but he didn't notice. Hee.
Tomorrow I am going to the library and making my semi-famous beef and bean soup. The weather was awesome and warm over the weekend and now it's getting brrrr.
Flopped, sprawled, with little white paws dangling loose, both of them. Cuuuuuuute.
with help from TK and the peeps.
Tux boy BOUNDED up to me in bed just as I woke up. So good to see him boinging and un-coned. Skritched him and got purrrr. He seems to have had a quickie bath as his fur is marginally less greasy. But him's too busy sleeping or chasing Tortie to bathe much, and him doesn't care.
HRT is mostly avoiding him. She's chased him once today and vice-versa. Another time, he tore down the hall at full gallop, then stopped and looked back b/c she didn't follow. She must have head-faked him again and just sat there smugly. I didn't see it, but I can picture it. It makes him go away with less effort on her part. I'm glad she's gotten over her blind hatred enough to use her brains a little, for more sophisticated hatred.
I think I need a nap. Bet I can get a black and white companion. As long as I don't have to look at his hind end, which is still just Wrong.
to finish up NaBloPoMo, I am pleased to announce that
TK is cone-free!
We ate breakfast before we took it off, so we'd have one last meal without him snoot in our plates.
He wasn't quite sure what was going to happen when Daddy picked him up and stood him on the couch -- "Meow?" but was he ever happy when it came off. Daddy showed it to him, he sniffed it, and then went to his thump spot.
Him hasn't bothered to bathe yet (grooming doesn't come natural to him like it does to HRT) but he has walked around re-marking everything with his whisker glands and purring when skritched.
Tortie is hiding in her bathroom towel nest. TK chomped on my Achilles' tendon about 5 min. after he was freed, so him's already back up to full brat speed.
Video will need to be uploaded, edited, and uploaded again, but the de-coning will be up here.
Thank you for reading this year's edition of
Can you believe I'm posting this early in the day? It's b/c I may be hanging with friends later on.
Here are some photos of what went on last night at Chez LT.
The "Simon's Cat" book was delivered and Tuxboy was not about to give up his sprawls on my lap for me to read it.
I came across an appropriate page for both TK and lauowolf's NikitaKitten (embiggen to see comics):
Tortie had been on the couch before TK hopped up. Since we didn't stop him, and he's just too icky to deal with, she gave us all this:
And there's your average Tuesday night at our house.
Which is pretty good.
Got some different prescription wet fud for TK. He seems to like it much better. He's sleeping on my bed.
HRTortie is sleeping in FDaddy's lap, all adorably floofy, with one white paw sticking out.
TK has an appointment Saturday afternoon to get de-coned. We'll all be glad of that.
First off, I am typing this around him. His butt isn't quite on the laptop. Him's got him big ol' self on my lap. So warm, not counting occasional jabs from the edge of the cone.
He's totally over the prescription gooshyfud. Bigcat would rather have no gooshy than eat it. HRTortie thinks it's okay, though. Whether she really likes the flavr or just likes to steal stuff from his bowl, who knows. It won't hurt her.
So I gotta find if there's some other kind of canned prescription fud that he'll eat, or if I can get hims to eat the holistic canned fud that also has the magic ingredient, or if I have to cook for hims. B/c we cannot have yearly $2-3000 ouchy operations and 2 weeks in a cone every time.
The floofy girl did not get to sleep with hoomans last night, but when I got up, she had claimed teh windo shlef. She then followed the sun into her bathroom towel nest, and ended up at the foot of the bed when I had a nap. Cute.
There was a snowshoe Siamesey kitteh in the yard this afternoon, just watching birds and squirrels. We showed it to our stupid little conehead, but him was more interested in the birds and squirrels. We tapped on the window and snowshoe kitteh turned his/her big blue eyes towards us, then was all "eh" and went back to watching. The weeds back there are pretty deep so what I really spotted was the back of a whitish head and two pointy brown ears. Luckily years of looking at Miao Brothers pix made it easy for me to recognize. :)
Tonight is cheezburger and teevee. I gotta figure out something NON-poultry for Tues. and Wed. I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to the yummy meal and hanging with friends.
Slept late (wif cuddly HRTortie), eated eggs and BACON!, kittehs snoozed all afternoon/evening, stuffed self at soup and salad place with BFF's. Have to get our stomachs into (or out of) shape for Thursday.
TK not thrilled with the prescription gooshyfud, but is eating it ok so far. Not thrilled with extra-large cone, either, but only 6 more days for that.
Off to watch tonight's Amazing Race.
I met the lovely and talented Lauowolf at a local coffee shop. It is NOT a chain, it's a proper shop where they roast the coffee beans on-site. They also have a redonk number of teas. Excessive smoothie flavors. And baked goods, plus salads and sandwiches and every flavor possible of Italian soda. Open 6-midnight. Indoor ATM. Plenty of tables, plus a couch.
They don't play muzak. No "music" at all. It's clean and bright. Free wi-fi. No rushing you out of there, no crap on the floor, no teens or screaming kids. The biggest group was 4 people with laptops quizzing each other on where sinuses drain to (probably from the local college nursing program). No attitude from counter folk.
We had our beverages (which come in small, medium and large, THANK YOU), and a McMuffin-like hot sammich made from realer food. The scones and muffins looked awesome though. After we ate (off real plates) and drank, we looked at the huge collection of ceramic mugs which cover all subjects in a primitive/southwest sort of style (hecho en Mexico, so I guess they're northwest!). Other ceramic decorative goodies, plus cute canisters.
It is the anti-Starbucks, which is how they've stayed in business since 1992. I bought a bottle of the sugar-free Italian syrup (Splenda!) for our home fizzy beverage needs.
Then we came back here to Chez LT where she got to wake up and pet HRTortie (busy being aloof floof) and after some initial spookiness, she got on famously with Conehead Tux Boy. Him loved the skritching. She also got to see the rare exciting sight of TK nomming a passion fruit rind. She's taking some home to see if any of her various kittehs might be interested, or if it's just a TK thing. I await the report.
We read the kid's book by Laurie C's friend and we both found it completely delightful. Get it for any kids you know. Rubber beaver from arbed? Squished. Wrongness of the bald TK tummy? Noted, unfortunately -- it really is kinda disturbing in some configurations.
I encourage anyone who hasn't done so to make a Peep Meet happen. There's nobody better than this crowd.
Totally worth getting dressed for. :)
