with help from TK and the peeps.
Tux boy BOUNDED up to me in bed just as I woke up. So good to see him boinging and un-coned. Skritched him and got purrrr. He seems to have had a quickie bath as his fur is marginally less greasy. But him's too busy sleeping or chasing Tortie to bathe much, and him doesn't care.
HRT is mostly avoiding him. She's chased him once today and vice-versa. Another time, he tore down the hall at full gallop, then stopped and looked back b/c she didn't follow. She must have head-faked him again and just sat there smugly. I didn't see it, but I can picture it. It makes him go away with less effort on her part. I'm glad she's gotten over her blind hatred enough to use her brains a little, for more sophisticated hatred.
I think I need a nap. Bet I can get a black and white companion. As long as I don't have to look at his hind end, which is still just Wrong.
to finish up NaBloPoMo, I am pleased to announce that
TK is cone-free!
We ate breakfast before we took it off, so we'd have one last meal without him snoot in our plates.
He wasn't quite sure what was going to happen when Daddy picked him up and stood him on the couch -- "Meow?" but was he ever happy when it came off. Daddy showed it to him, he sniffed it, and then went to his thump spot.
Him hasn't bothered to bathe yet (grooming doesn't come natural to him like it does to HRT) but he has walked around re-marking everything with his whisker glands and purring when skritched.
Tortie is hiding in her bathroom towel nest. TK chomped on my Achilles' tendon about 5 min. after he was freed, so him's already back up to full brat speed.
Video will need to be uploaded, edited, and uploaded again, but the de-coning will be up here.
Thank you for reading this year's edition of
excessive fun and food.
I am going to stay home tomorrow and spend much time in bed and not going out (esp. not out to eat, eeek, I had forgotten how expensive even cheapo places are!).
Also, tomorrow afternoon I will be skritching TK's neck after him gets the cone off.
too much fun to post.
TK got his stitches out but must wear the cone till Monday PM to keep him from irritating the incision.
Mr. LT reminded me while I was in the tub that it's that time.
Ate way too much food last night.
Ate way too much tonight, but at Afghan restaurant. I did have the traditional punkin pie for breakfast.
Am exhausted from spending the day at The Tech Museum, being all sciencey, and being all science fictiony with the traveling Trek exhibit.
EDIT: to answer Val's question below and add some content:
There are 2 slightly different copies of this exhibit at a time traveling the country, so original stuff is few and far between. We had Kirk's bridge, Picard's ready room, TNG transporter, and a Guardian of Forever. A number of folks in costume or appropriate wear. The very srs bizness 10 yr. old in Wrath of Khan outfit cracked me up.
There are a few models and props that are original but almost all the costumes are replicas. The Enterprise ones were original. And the ones from the new movie. Some of them are fan-made, as the BFF's even are friends with the gal who made the Klingon warrior (TOS) uniform. And if you look closely, you can tell, b/c they have it on a male mannequin and so it doesn't hang quite right in the chestal area. I think they evened out the height of all the costumes; the mannequins were all the same size and we know that some of the actors were much shorter or a bit taller than that. We had a quibble with the length of TOS Uhura's skirt. Loved Kai Owen's outfit.
One of the big TNG Enterprises had a little teeny sign that said it was the original and worth $1 million! :O They had an original Borg cube, and a whole bunch of good replicas of other ships. One huge wall was the timeline of history of ALL the shows and movies, and another was "bronzed" models of all the ships ever mentioned, from nuclear-wessel Enterprise, through Defiant, Voyager, and all. Mostly to scale except of course DS9 wouldn't have fit in the case if so.
We ponied up the big dough for pix (like you get on roller coasters) of us on Kirk's bridge and in the TNG transporter. I restrained my buying to one TOS t-shirt, though I wanted LOTS of stuff.
Tomorrow, will sleep late and possibly putter around town depending on when/how/if we all recover. Might not move till turkey leftovers.
Kitties MOST upset with us for being gone all afternoon and evening and not dishing up the noms.
(Or, Thursday to some of you)
I am most thankful today for mah peeps (some of you, and you know who you are, I am xtra speshul thankful for), my supportive friends, my annoying yet adorable kitties, and most especially Mr. LT.
Tuxie is getting his earz rubbed in Daddy's lap -- he gets the cone off Saturday afternoon. Tortie's enjoying the view out the window... no, she's dozing off. Us hoomans are still in jammies but will soon put on elasticated clothing and go to the BFFs for an amazing dinner for 8 with some friends we haven't seen in ages.
I hope your food coma is delightful and your relatives only mildly annoying.
Can you believe I'm posting this early in the day? It's b/c I may be hanging with friends later on.
Here are some photos of what went on last night at Chez LT.
The "Simon's Cat" book was delivered and Tuxboy was not about to give up his sprawls on my lap for me to read it.
I came across an appropriate page for both TK and lauowolf's NikitaKitten (embiggen to see comics):
Tortie had been on the couch before TK hopped up. Since we didn't stop him, and he's just too icky to deal with, she gave us all this:
And there's your average Tuesday night at our house.
Which is pretty good.
Got some different prescription wet fud for TK. He seems to like it much better. He's sleeping on my bed.
HRTortie is sleeping in FDaddy's lap, all adorably floofy, with one white paw sticking out.
TK has an appointment Saturday afternoon to get de-coned. We'll all be glad of that.
First off, I am typing this around him. His butt isn't quite on the laptop. Him's got him big ol' self on my lap. So warm, not counting occasional jabs from the edge of the cone.
He's totally over the prescription gooshyfud. Bigcat would rather have no gooshy than eat it. HRTortie thinks it's okay, though. Whether she really likes the flavr or just likes to steal stuff from his bowl, who knows. It won't hurt her.
So I gotta find if there's some other kind of canned prescription fud that he'll eat, or if I can get hims to eat the holistic canned fud that also has the magic ingredient, or if I have to cook for hims. B/c we cannot have yearly $2-3000 ouchy operations and 2 weeks in a cone every time.
The floofy girl did not get to sleep with hoomans last night, but when I got up, she had claimed teh windo shlef. She then followed the sun into her bathroom towel nest, and ended up at the foot of the bed when I had a nap. Cute.
There was a snowshoe Siamesey kitteh in the yard this afternoon, just watching birds and squirrels. We showed it to our stupid little conehead, but him was more interested in the birds and squirrels. We tapped on the window and snowshoe kitteh turned his/her big blue eyes towards us, then was all "eh" and went back to watching. The weeds back there are pretty deep so what I really spotted was the back of a whitish head and two pointy brown ears. Luckily years of looking at Miao Brothers pix made it easy for me to recognize. :)
Tonight is cheezburger and teevee. I gotta figure out something NON-poultry for Tues. and Wed. I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to the yummy meal and hanging with friends.
Slept late (wif cuddly HRTortie), eated eggs and BACON!, kittehs snoozed all afternoon/evening, stuffed self at soup and salad place with BFF's. Have to get our stomachs into (or out of) shape for Thursday.
TK not thrilled with the prescription gooshyfud, but is eating it ok so far. Not thrilled with extra-large cone, either, but only 6 more days for that.
Off to watch tonight's Amazing Race.
